This beautiful icon was a wonderful meditation for Lent. The 2 x 2 ½ foot picture of the Holy Family distributed to the Knights of Columbus councils in Montana has traveled literally thousands of miles. Just from Havre’s Council #1644 to Fort Benton Council #1399 to Great Falls was quite a trip. Here in Great Falls within a week, it went from Council #9395 located at Holy Spirit to Council #1493 at Our Lady of Lourdes where it was on display to welcome the new pastor, Father Alphonsus Enelichi at his arrival. It spent St. Patrick’s Day with the Our Lady of Lourdes “Fighting Irish” and was on display at St. Ann’s Cathedral for Friday Chrism Mass with Bishop Warfel, Father Oliver Doyle, and Deacon Mark Zenner. It spent Palm Sunday weekend for veneration and observation with Father Ryan Erlenbush at Corpus Christi Parish. It spent Easter Week at Teton Council #6200 which covers Fairfield and Choteau, and then off to Council #2860 of Conrad, Valier, Shelby, Cutbank, and Sunburst. It was an extreme honor to be able to help display such a beautiful icon, and I encourage all who can to pray before it this year of mercy.
