At the 10:30 a.m. Mass on April 30, 2017, Bishop Warfel conferred upon 27 young members of our parish community the Sacrament of Confirmation and presided over the celebration of their first Holy Communion, given to them by our Pastor, Fr. Steve Zabrocki. The completion of the Sacraments of Initiation of these baptized children marks their lives with a permanent, sacramental character: they can be certain of the gift of God’s Holy Spirit and the presence of Jesus Christ no matter where life takes them. Now old enough to choose faith for themselves, they are called to respond and go forth with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, returning each week to the celebration of the Holy Eucharist for nourishment, strength, and ongoing transformation for the life-long work of Christian Discipleship. May our cherished young ones be richly blessed and know the prayer and support of our parish community of St. Thomas the Apostle, that they may walk always in the light of Christ and forever know the friendship and welcome of the Body of Christ, the Church.
