By Cain Pence

Vast as the endless Texas plains
Wide as the Montana sky
Tall as a Colorado mountain
Grand as an Arizona canyon

Dear Lord, we pray that You
Who made the Western rivers
Mighty as the flowing Missouri
Who made the peaks of grandeur and
The veins of gold

We pray that You, most wonderful artist
Protect the American West
Let her people, native and new
In search of gold and God
Live free and in harmony

Let settlers and locals
Ranchers and miners, cowboys and Indians
Respect the land and the people who came before

Oh Mighty Maker, whose power
Is greater than an Oklahoma tornado
Whose hand can shake the San Andreas
We pray You watch over your children
Oh Lord of prairie and mountain
Let her air be clean and her water pure
Let her mountains soar and her forests grow
Oh Lord whose love is deeper than a California valley and
Whose grace is greater than an Oregon forest, We Pray

Let the American West remain free
Let the American West remain open
Let the American West honor the God of Yellowstone and Yosemite
Let the American West remain strong and grand like her Maker
