A QCD, sometimes called a “charitable rollover,” is a contribution from your IRA sent directly from your IRA administrator to the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana. You can make a QCD of any amount, up to $100,000, in a given year, provided you are at least 70 1⁄2 years or older at the time of your gift to the Foundation. Unlike other distributions from your retirement accounts, you pay no income tax on a QCD, although there is no charitable deduction for your contribution. However, your QCD donation counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) without creating taxable income for you.

What would your QCD benefit? Any Catholic cause in our eastern Montana diocese that matters the most to you (your local parish, Catholic school, priest assistance, greatest needs, etc.). There are many choices, but what matters the most is what you want to accomplish with the gifts God has given you.
