Diocesan Pilgrimages

In the last issue of “The Harvest” you may have noticed some pictures from the diocesan pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion. What a spiritually enriching experience that was for the 30 pilgrims who joined Bishop Fleming and myself to this holy Marian Apparition site. This journey was filled with prayer and awe at some fantastic Catholic locations throughout the upper Midwest of the United States. From the very ground where Mary appeared in Wisconsin, to the humble Fatima Family Shrine in Alexandria, South Dakota, our trip invited us into a deeper relationship with each other, with Christ, which Christ’s mother, and with the Church. This pilgrimage was so fruitful that we have decided to make domestic pilgrimages a regular occurrence in this diocese.

The next diocesan pilgrimage is already planned, and registration is open. Bishop Fleming, and I, invite you to join us on the “Saints & Martyrs of America Pilgrimage” this coming March 9th – 15th. We will be traveling from Montana to Santa Fe, New Mexico visiting 4 Cathedrals, 2 Cathedral Basilicas, 3 Shrines, and 1 church built in 1610 still in use today. We hope you will prayerfully consider joining us as we learn about the rich Catholic history of the America Southwest. See the ad on the back of this issue of “The Harvest” for additional information.

Diocesan Youth Event

We are thrilled that Bishop Fleming has invested in hiring Jessica Brown as the Coordinator of Youth, Young Adult, and Family Ministry. Jessica’s bio is in this issue of “The Harvest,” so be sure to read it, if you have not already.

One of Jessica’s first responsibilities is to give guidance to the development of a Diocesan Youth Event for the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings. Such an event has been in the planning stages since this past March, and we are thrilled that the “Saints and Sacraments” High School Youth Event, with Keynote Speaker and Musician Dan Harms, will be March 16-17, 2024 in Lewistown. Mark your calendars now, and watch the diocesan website and social media for additional details as they become available!
