SINSINAWA, Wis.—Sister Guadalupe Soria, OP, died June 14, 2021, at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, Wis. The funeral Mass was held at the Dominican motherhouse, Sinsinawa, June 19, with the burial June 21 in the Motherhouse Cemetery.

Sister Guadalupe was born Sept. 22, 1925, in Hysham, Mont., the daughter of Gilbert and Guadalupe (Alvarado) Soria. Her parents and six sisters, Consuello Soria, Ampara Soria, Minerva Ortez, Ruth Soria, Esperanza Rangel, and Helen Mason, preceded her in death. She is survived by three sisters, Anita Florez, Gloria Soto, and Sister Rosalinda Soria, OP; nieces; nephews; and her Dominican Sisters with whom she shared 64 years of religious life.

Sister Guadalupe made her first profession as a Dominican Sister of Sinsinawa Aug. 5, 1956, and her perpetual profession Aug. 5, 1959. She served as a nurse aide for nine years and as a missionary in Bolivia and Texas for 29 years. As part of her missionary work, she established a medical clinic, delivered babies, and led prayer circles. Sister Guadalupe provided pastoral care for two years and served as support staff for six years. Grace, peace and love radiated from Sister Guadalupe. This wise and holy woman brought faith and joy to all she encountered. She served in Iowa, Wisconsin, Montana and Texas, as well as Santa Cruz and Cochabamba, Bolivia.

In the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings, Sister Guadalupe ministered in pastoral care at Little Flower Parish, Billings, 1976 and 1977.
