In 1929 the Catholic community in Glendive erected a small chapel in their cemetery, making the place of rest even more beautiful. A severe summer storm in 2015 caused some damage to the chapel, so Deacon Bob Ackerman took the leadership in encouraging the parish to raise money ($4,500) and refurbishing the building. On Memorial Day, May 30, 2016, Father Francis Schreiber, pastor, celebrated Mass in the chapel in a rededication ceremony. Nancy Keller, a parishioner of Sacred Heart in Glendive who helped to write up a history of the chapel, notes, “We hope this chapel is enjoyed by many to stop for a minute to pray for loved ones and all who rest in peace in the cemetery.”
