If you are 70½ years of age or older, did you know you can lower the income and taxes from your IRA withdrawals and help the Church at the same time? An IRA charitable rollover is a way you can make a charitable contribution to benefit our beloved Catholic faith and also personally benefit in 2016.
Benefits of an IRA charitable rollover

• Avoid taxes on transfers of up to $100,000 from your IRA to the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana
• Satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year
• Reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions
• Make a gift that is not subject to the 50% deduction limits on charitable gifts
• Help further the work and mission of the Catholic Church within the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings

How an IRA charitable rollover gift works

1. Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana.
2. Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to the Foundation to help continue our important work in this diocese.
3. You may direct your contribution to be used for a ministry very close to your heart, such as: Youth Ministry, Seminarian Education, Priest Retirement, etc. Just specify your wishes!
4. Please note that IRA charitable rollover gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction, as you have not incurred taxes on these dollars.
