I love the opportunity to be involved in my church family. This year my granddaughter, Rhyann, volunteered to help as well. Joy! This is the word to describe Sunday, November 6, 2016 at St. Pius X Church! We served 360 meals to men and women age 65+ who have served our parish and others throughout their lives. Over 100 people helped the day of the meal to prep food, haul things back and forth from the school basement kitchen to the Fellowship hall, dish up and serve meals, clear tables, wash dishes and the dozen “to do’s” needed to make such a day happen.

The committee meets in August to set their plans and then beginning October we have signup tables for food/monetary/service donations. The week leading up to Giving Thanks Dinner it gets interesting! Can you say “peel potatoes?” Thanks to ALL who helped in so many ways and of course thank you to the men and women who we honored. May their years of service continue! God bless you each and all.
