Marihelen Held is a graduate of Great Falls High School and her parish is Holy Spirit Catholic Parish of the Great Falls Vicariate. She is the daughter of Brian and Judy Held. Her plan is to attend Montana Tech and major in engineering.
Rachel Ann Ringen is a graduate of Dawson County High School and her parish is Sacred Heart Church in Glendive of the Miles City Vicariate. She is the daughter of Lea and Terry Ringen. She will be attending Montana State University in Bozeman, Mt. She will major in English and study drama and music.
Riley Mortenson is a graduate of Malta High School and her parish is St. Mary’s of Malta, MT of the Havre Vicariate. She is the daughter of Paul and Rachel Mortenson. She will be attending Montana State University Northern and will double major in Secondary Education with a math emphasis and Business Administration with a minor in Accounting and an Associates in Agriculture .
Colleen Culbertson is a graduate of Absarokee High School and her parish is St. Michael’s Church of the Billings Vicariate. She is the daughter of Maureen and David Culbertson. Her plan is to attend Carroll College in Helena, Mt. She will begin her study in pre-pharmacy and hopes to become a pharmacist.
The Great Falls-Billings Diocesan Council of Catholic Women Scholarships were awarded for 2016. Applications were provided to the Parishes early in the year and the scholarship applicants were selected in June. Scholarships applications were received from four of the Vicariates and there were nine total applications.
The Great Falls-Billings Diocesan Council of Catholic Women will once again awarding a $300.00 College scholarships for the 2017 school year to a high school graduating senior women, one in each of the five vicariates. One additional scholarship will be awarded to a non-traditional Catholic woman student who is currently enrolled or will be enrolling in the fall of 2017.
