Carlos Malaver-Parada removed from the Clerical State by Pope Francis

Carlos Malaver-Parada was ordained to the Priesthood December 16, 2014 at St. Ann Cathedral in Great Falls. Bishop Warfel withdrew his faculties for public ministry for cause on August 20, 2015. His case to remove him from the Clerical State has been in various stages between the Holy See with the Congregation for Clergy and the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and the diocese since early 2017. In December we received notice from the Holy See that Pope Francis officially removed Carlos from the Clerical State and all obligations of the priesthood including celibacy for reasons of his attempted marriage and schism.
