“If you’re a Catholic looking to better understand and defend the Catholic Faith, while growing in your Faith, you’re in the right place. If you have questions about the teachings of the Catholic Church, you’re also in the right place. If you’re looking to become a Catholic and want to learn about this beautiful Catholic Church, you’re in the right place too” (Father Cory Sticha).

God has given all of us special gifts that we are to use for His Greater Glory. Father Cory Sticha, Pastor of St. Mary’s Parish in Malta, was given several gifts from God, one of these is the gift of being a geek. His ability to use computer hardware, software, along with sound equipment, and put together a podcast to share with the world on social media is a wonderful gift. By combining his gift of geekiness and speaking Father Cory has launched a podcast to teach others the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

On Sunday, March 5, 2017, Father Cory launched his Back to Catholic Basics podcast. A new podcast will be posted every Sunday. Father Cory will be taking questions on his feedback site and will include a few feedback episodes in his podcasts. By the time the Back to Catholic Basics on the Catechism of the Catholic Church is completed, there will be between 80-100 episodes that we can all download and listen to at our convenience. At the time of this writing, BTCB has been downloaded in nine states and the countries of Canada and Japan.

I encourage everyone to visit backtocatholicbasics.com. There you will be able to subscribe to the podcast. You’ll be able to listen to it on iTunes, Google Play Music and Stitcher radio on demand.

“I cannot fail to emphasize now one of the most constant concerns of the synod fathers, a concern imposed with vigor and urgency by present experiences throughout the world: I am referring to the central problem of the catechesis of adults. This is the principal form of catechesis, because it is addressed to persons who have the greatest responsibilities and the capacity to live the Christian message in its fully developed form” (St. John Paul II, CT 43).
