Thomas, age 22, is a native of Billings, the second of four children of David and Amy Johnson. He was primarily home-schooled until he matriculated at Mount Angel Seminary in St. Benedict, Oregon, forty miles south of Portland. Prior to beginning his seminary studies (philosophy) there, he had completed one academic year at Montana State University-Billings.
Thomas spent one summer working as a groundskeeper at St. Thomas Family Camp in Monarch, Montana, during the COVID pandemic year, and then returned there the next summer, 2021, to serve as a camp counsellor. Thomas completed his college-level studies at Mount Angel Seminary this spring and will begin his theological studies at the Angelicum University in Rome while residing at the North American College.
Please pray for more men to consider the priesthood for the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings as Thomas has. If you or someone you know would like more information, please contact Msgr. Daniel J. Wathen, Vocations Director at djwathen@gmail.com.
