Sacred Heart Parish Nursing Program in Miles City, Mont., sponsored a “Walk to Bethlehem” program which started in September and concluded two weeks before Christmas. The program’s goal is to enhance spiritual, mental, and physical health. Over 98 parishioners participated and received pedometers and packets with weekly reflections and information on major cities along the route. Parishioners who were unable to physically participate received “steps” for praying the rosary and reading the Bible. Progress was charted on a world map in the church entry and by weekly updates in the bulletin. We walked and prayed a total of 7,962 miles or 18,372,683 steps. The program was made possible by a grant from Holy Rosary Foundation in Miles City. Wheat Icon
