Sinsinawa, Wis.—Sister Guadalupe Soria, OP, will celebrate her 60th jubilee in June 2016. A Mass will be held in Queen of the Rosary Chapel at Sinsinawa Mound on Sunday, June 5, for her and 21 other Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters celebrating 60 years.

Sister Guadalupe’s home parish is Our Lady of Guadalupe, Billings, in the Great Falls-Billings Diocese. She is the daughter of the late Gilberto and Guadalupe (Alvarado) Soria. Sister Guadalupe’s ministry has been dedicated to nursing and preaching.

In the Archdiocese of Dubuque, Sister Guadalupe ministered at St. Dominic Villa, Dubuque, as a nurse aide, 1956-1961 and 1971-1973, and support staff, 1990-1991.

In the Diocese of Madison, Sister Guadalupe ministered at the Motherhouse, Sinsinawa, as a nurse aide, 1975-1976 and 1989-1990, and in pastoral care and support, 2001-2004.

In the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings, Sister Guadalupe ministered as a therapist at Little Flower, Billings, 1976 and 1977.

In the Diocese of Austin, Sister Guadalupe ministered as a member of the Dominican Preaching team, Austin, 1977, 1978, and 2000-2001, and in pastoral care at Casa Guadalupe Center, Austin, 1992-2000.

In the Diocese of Brownsville, Sister Guadalupe served as support staff at Immaculate Conception Parish, Brownsville, 1979-1981; as a member of the Dominican Missionary Preaching team, McAllen, 1981-1986 and 1991-1992; and as pastoral associate at St. Margaret Mary Parish, Pharr, 1986-1988.

She has also ministered as a missionary for 13 years in Santa Cruz and Cochabamba, Bolivia.

Sister Guadalupe is retired and living in community at St. Dominic Villa.
