Saint Leo’s Social Concerns Commission held their Big Bargain Sale May 6-7, 2016. It was a tremendous success with two classrooms and a large gym filled to capacity with a variety of treasures. People flocked in Friday night filling their shopping carts, boxes and bags with everything from crafts, clothes, household items, jewelry, etc. for only 50 cents an item. They were excited with the bargains and returned on Saturday morning to once again fill their carts of forgotten items. They returned Saturday afternoon taking advantage of the sack sale from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. We had great volunteers that worked for two-and-a-half weeks preparing for the weekend, and everyone was thrilled and exhausted with the results. Proceeds went to Social Concerns to assist families in need, and also the youth program to help with their expenses.
