Capuchin Friar Tien Dinh was ordained April 30. He has been serving as a deacon at St. Dennis Parish. St. Dennis Parish and St. Francis Xavier Mission gifted a Native American blanket which Father Randolph Graczyk of St. Charles Parish presented to Father Tien at the ordination.

Detroit, MI (May 11, 2016) … Tien Dinh, OFM Cap., has been ordained a priest, April 30, 2016, at St. Lawrence Seminary High School, Mt. Calvary, WI, the founding site of the Capuchin Province of St. Joseph.

“Father Tien is a very dedicated Capuchin Friar,” Capuchin Province of St. Joseph Provincial Minister, Father Michael Sullivan, states. “He joyfully and willingly serves wherever he is asked. We are very proud of him and are certain he will continue to serve God’s Poor with generosity and joy. After his ordination to the priesthood, Father Tien will continue to serve as a missionary to the Crow and Cheyenne People.”

“It has been a life-changing journey as I have prepared for my priesthood ordination,” Father Tien explains. “I want to thank everyone, especially my family and Capuchin brothers, who have been there for me with their prayers and words of encouragement. Finally, I want to thank God for calling me to follow him in serving his people. Please continue to pray for me.”

Father Tien serves St. Dennis Parish, Crow Agency, Montana, and on the Crow Nation Reservation. He recently graduated from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago with a Master of Divinity degree.
