On Thursday, December 14, 2017, the Candidates for the Permanent Diaconate were formally admitted to the institute of Reader by Bishop Michael Warfel at St. Patrick Co-Cathedral in Billings.

As readers and bearers of God’s word, these newly installed lectors will assist in the Church’s mission of preaching the Gospel to the world, and so they take on a special office within the Christian community. They are given a responsibility in the service of the faith, which is rooted in the word of God. They will proclaim that word in the liturgical assembly, instruct children and adults in the faith and prepare them to receive the sacraments worthily, bringing the message of salvation to those who have not yet received it.

Please continue to keep these men and their families in your prayers as they continue to prepare to serve in our diocese as Permanent Deacons.
