Approximately thirty people gathered on the front steps of the Fergus County Courthouse in Lewistown, Montana, to pray the Rosary and other prayers for: the conversion of America so that it may fulfill its historic mission; against anti-religious hatred within our society; that our leaders would seek to honor God’s law and pray for the wisdom and knowledge to solve America’s complex problems. Prayers were offered for the end of abortion, pornography and the attacks on the family and marriage.

Over 14,000 such Rosary Rallies were held across the United States in remembrance of the Day the Sun Danced in Fatima, Portugal, on October 13, 1917. (Over 70,000 people witnessed this miracle which had been predicted to take place by Mary when she appeared to three young shepherd children. Believers as well as skeptics witnessed this miracle. This miracle was recorded in secular newspapers of the time!)

Prayer has averted or lessened many terrible things in history. The battle of Lepanto was actually an intense prayer for Mary’s intervention, which prevented the Turkish Armies from taking over all of Europe. After eight years of Rosary Marches and Prayer, Russian troops up and left a fourth of Austria that they had been occupying since the end of the Big War. Not a shot was fired.

Prayer does work and we all need to pray for our world and our country and that people will turn back to God with their whole hearts and minds. Wheat Icon
