Almost 40 Saint Francis Intermediate students recently participated in the Knights of Columbus Substance Abuse Awareness Poster Contest. The contest, organized by the Knights in collaboration with SFI counselor Nichole Hamnes, is part of a unit designed to make even young children aware of the devastating effects of substance abuse. The poster contest is held in conjunction with Red Ribbon Week, celebrated by students across the country to promote substance abuse awareness. KC member Dave Bofto and Nichole Hamnes are in the photo along with the SFI student participants. The winner of the poster contest will be announced at morning Mass sometime in November.
