Each person presented a talk during the Convocation in Lewistown.

The convocation was a joint session with Lutheran and Catholic clergy to take a day for dialogue and discussion recalling the commemoration of the Protestant Reformation. Bishop Warfel invited the priests, deacons, and parish leaders to gather for this Convocation, noting that entering in such dialogues is very much in the heart and of concern to Pope Francis and, before him, St. Pope John Paul II.

It was held at the Yogo Inn, 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Two primary documents were used for the Convocation: From Con ict to Communion which was issued jointly by the World Lutheran Federation and the Ponti cal Council on Interreligious Dialogue and Declaration on the Way: Church, Ministry and Eucharist, issued by the Bishops’ Committee for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Bishops of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. These may be found online. From Con ict to Communion ends with “Five Ecumenical Imperatives.” The day was an extended re ection and dialogue on how to embrace and practice the imperatives.
