Providing assistance to our parishioners to attend all parish events

Knights of Columbus Council 9395 Knights have been providing transportation to parishioners in need of a ride from their homes, assisted living facilities, group homes and nursing homes to Holy Spirit Catholic Parish in Great Falls to meet their spiritual needs, attend parish related functions such as fellowship and stewardship events and other religious devotions.

Users of this bus transport service provided at the beginning of each Mass, both on weekends and on special days of obligation, consist mainly of special needs persons, persons with disabilities, seniors, elders, and the homeless.

In addition, the parish handicap bus is often filled to capacity with parish-goers and has covered more than 26,000 passenger miles during this period.

Council Knights have formed a pool of available drivers that handle this project on a recurring and scheduled basis, from month to month. Knights providing the parish bus transportation service have been trained in the proper wheelchair, mobility device, and occupant securement procedures by a nationally certified passenger safety and service trainer, the Council’s Grand Knight himself. This specialized training was provided to our Knights to ensure their passengers receive a safe and comfortable ride.
