A very special day was held on June 7, 2015, to celebrate 50 years of priesthood for Father Joseph Diekhans. The day began with a Mass at noon in the Joplin Community Park. Mass was followed with a BBQ pork picnic luncheon.
Father Joe was presented a quilt from Our Lady of Ransom Parish (Hingham) and Sacred Heart Parish (Inverness) which was created by Linda Patrick.
He was also presented a travel voucher from parishioners of all three parishes (St. Mary, Our Lady of Ransom and Sacred Heart). Father Felix Nayak from St. Gabriel Parish in Chinook joined in concelebrating the Mass with Father Joe.
Over 200 guests joined Father Joe to celebrate this special event. Many members of his family were among the guests.
