Ministers at Final Centennial Celebration, Immaculate Conception Church in Wolf Point.

Submitted by Trudy Fox, ICC Centennial Committee

Our Journey of Faith was a project for the Centennial Celebration of Immaculate Conception Church in Wolf Point, Montana. Over the past year, the parish members submitted family histories and contributed histories on the church, school, priests, nuns, and organizations of Immaculate Conception since 1917.

It also compiles histories of the Catholic Church in Montana and from our parish. From Native Americans to Immigrants, the Greatest Generation to Millenniums, the book contains stories of growing up Catholic on the prairies of northeast Montana, stories of the journeys that brought them to Wolf Point and stories of how and why they became members of our parish. The 237-page book includes many photos and some very inspirational testaments of faith, courage, and love of this community.

The book was unveiled at the annual celebration of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception with a potluck dinner on December 10, 2017, in Wolf Point. This event culminated a year of celebrations beginning with a special Mass celebrated by Bishop Michael Warfel last January, a Mother’s Day Mass honoring the women of our parish, a special Mass on Pentecost recognizing our Centennial, and an Assiniboine Ceremonial Smudging at Mass in October. We are grateful to all who were able to participate in this year-long event.

Copies of Our Journey of Faith may be ordered from Immaculate Conception using the order form found in this issue of The Harvest.
