Volunteers at work sorting for St. Thomas the Apostle Church Christmas Food Basket ministry. Families in need are recommended from the city’s elementary schools to the parish, which we adopt for Thanksgiving and Christmas to deliver a week’s worth of food staples, basic needs such as socks, holiday festive meal ingredients and presents at Christmas time. The entire parish helps with shopping for foods and presents, and volunteers sort/distribute the goods for delivery on the Sunday before Christmas. We support 150 area families with this ministry, which amounts to over 650 persons and more than 400 children who are helped in the challenging times of holiday breaks. Submitted by Nicholas Coffman.
