Each year the Holy Spirit fourth graders present a Hobby Fair. Each student picks their favorite hobby, researches that hobby, writes a report, makes a presentation board, and then presents the hobby for friends and family. This year we had hobbies from sewing, to surfing and everything in between. Soon after Hobby Fair, the fifth grade presented science demonstrations. The students came up with an experiment, and presented that experiment numerous times. One student chose the science of bubbles, another did “sink or float”, and yet another was the science of flight. Our younger students enjoyed watching each experiment. To wrap up the year, the third graders presented a Wax Museum. Their last book report of the year was a biography. After reading the biography the class hit the computer lab for some research. Each student wrote a short synopsis of that person’s life and presented it in wax museum style. Our gym was populated by Elvis, Black Beard, Mary, and many others. These fairs provide great learning opportunities for the students as well as the attendees.
